Hi Woombo,

I did some searching on a few Minecraft related websites and found something that might be useful to you; it seemed to be the same situation that you were in - so here is the answer:

"IF YOU'RE RUNNING ON A 64 BIT MACHINE:

Download and install:
http://download.cnet.com/Java-Runtime-Environment-JRE-64-Bit/3000-2378_4-75317067.html

The issue is Oracle.

In Oracles attempt to make Java more "User friendly" They no longer let you choose the version of Java you want. They choose for you. It was incredibly hard to find the 64 bit version of the jre. In fact I don't think that the Java site has a direct link at all.

Every time I downloaded Java off of the Java site, it would re-install the 32 bit version of Java on my machine. (Even though I'm running on a 64 bit computer. (Might be because I'm using Google Chrome.)

I had to get a version uploaded to CNET.

Simply download this and install it and your minecraft executable should run fine.

Mine did anyways."

Alright. Could you go to your control panel, and look for "Programs and Features" (Add/remove programs in older versions of Windows), uninstall java from there. Reboot, go to:

http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

And download  (one's offline, one's online). Then verify your java install by going to this link. http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
I cant really build anything.

The issue is you are using windows 8. Upgrade your system to Windows 7.
