Currently there is just a lack of mods for 1.7.*
When there are more plugins for 1.7.2 or 1.7.4 I'll release some more modpack versions for sure.
I did complete the screenshot mod for 1.7.2 ... its not in the launcher yet but will be soon.
My coding skills just aren't upto scratch for the type of mod pack system I'd like to implement though, it is a goal and I'm kinda wishing I had just made the launcher in Java so it would have worked on all OS systems, which just puts me off developing the current one. Though improvements are getting there. Now that the launcher can read the .json files for the minecraft version it is a big step in the right direction. Soon it will be able to read the plugin files needed to have such a modpack system.
The plan is to have a table list of plugins that are known to work with the selected minecraft version you have on your profile. Then you can select/deselect the mods you want installing or removing from the modpack. Again this would be so much simpler if everyone knew what to do, like some plugins will not work without or even with certain other plugins etc, that type of logic has to be coded in otherwise things just won't work well, and its complicated at least for me right now.
The other problem is I just do this for my own ease of use, and I got plenty of projects to do which is why you end up only getting the mods and plugins I use, though I lot of the mods and plugins you can add and remove yourself by checking the /mod folder, my own motivation is based on the number of people who use and want this. And a big problem is that I cannot really put this launcher on the official minecraftforums where I'm sure it would get a lot more users, because I'm also distributing the minecraft files for those without a premium account (not that I care one bit
) there is no premium check unlike the official launcher that constantly nags for username and password all the time, which is one of the big reasons I made this launcher in the first place. Mojang make tons of money for doing very little, not even hiring enough people to actually work on this multimillion dollar game, and most go buy the game anyway sooner or later.
Hope that explains the lack of progress on the modpack system in the kzlauncher.
