I am wanting to update the server to 1.7 and get started on the new server spawn,  the Quake plugin is not updated for 1.7 and its the only reason I haven't updated the server now. The developer for it is notoriously slow on updating.

Basically unless the votes say stick with 1.6. I'll definitely be doing the update this week... the Quake competition is expected to go on until this weekend.

If the update does go ahead before the Quake competition ending, and there is no Quake plugin updated for 1.7, then I can setup a 1.6 server with the same Quake world just for the competition to be finished off.

So yeh this is post just to let you all know, and vote on it if you want.

Actually 1.6 is ugly aswel.. them clowns at mojang screwed up the rendering path, so trying to force anti-aliasing on java/opengl using gfx card control panel no longer works, so the game has jaggies, it used to be you could get nice AA screenshots without shaders, now you can't get them at all.

You can only use that shitty looking FXAA type setting, which basically just blurrs the entire screen, only some retard at mojang would consider that to be better looking, and it blurs everything including GUI elements and TEXT.. honestly so fking stupid.

Koolio totaly agree but i think you should update also 2 questions. 1. Will survival world reset? 2. Since ur making a new spawn may i help?

I would like us to go to 1.7... but then no quake D:< i can't live without quake. Also, maybe new map??? the current one doesn't look that good... there's stupid boxes everywhere you go. Some biomes are messed up. I agree that mojang fucked up big, this time.

I have an idea. Maybe u can save the good stuff like good towns and delete the "boxes" and "penises" ive seen 3 or 4 of those. So just keep the good towns.

Komaq, don't worry the towns and what not will be saved, but it won't be main world.

Edit: i has a nice idea, instead of making a new main world, make a world ONLY for towns. Is that possible? like only mayors and assistants can claim land, no mychunk, no sponges, no WorldGuard. only towns. and maybe bring back Nations?

Nope, the current /survival map will remain along with all protected areas, towns, home etc.

There will be a new 1.7 survival map with wilderness spawn and (old style titan town that I'm planning to run like a town for new players to get a plot in), you will able to go and start again in 1.7 or just carry on in the current 1.6 world  (it will share the same inventory as the old survival map)

So ... sky spawn, survival(1.6) , and survival(1.7)  will all be linked worlds, you can move items between them and the economy is same.

hmmm I think maybe I might do the opposite, ie the survival 1.6 world will not allow mychunk or sponges anymore... only towns.

As new players will most likely be going to the 1.7 world, and I don't need more tiny protected areas in the 1.6 world creating (like the old freebuild it will eventually have most of the tiny protected areas that are just protecting crap removed so only the large towns and really good builds get protected)

I might put a vote to it, could do it your way and allow nations again.
