Title: Server allows 1.4.2 clients
Post by: Koolio on October 27, 2012, 07:30:09 pm
What I'm saying is that I've upgraded the server to allow 1.4.2 clients to connect,

HOWEVER.. this is not a proper 1.4.2 server, no items, mobs, and whatever other bats and shitt, that is officially in 1.4 will work on this server as it is really a 1.3.2 server.

Just letting you know, until Mojang/Bukkit can sort out a proper 1.4 server that isn't bug infested junk, maybe next time they can coordinate a release better, highly doubtful seeing as they've been asked to do that countless times and just don't care.

Oh yeh, despite it being a 1.3.2 server, *they* as in the people behind this hackjob of a server update, have prevented 1.3.2 clients from connecting.

It doesn't suck as much a Mojang though, everything they do is a hackjob :D

They screwed up, they were meant to have a pre-release out for a week before official release. Giving time to developers to update client mods and bukkit/plugin devs time to get started on a 1.4 server update.

Instead they make 2 pre-release updates during that week to fix major bugs they'd completely overlooked during all the snapshot crap, the last pre-release being the day before actual release... making the entire point of having pre-releases completely pointless as every time they do a pre release they compile the code and it all gets garbled up in obfuscation. Making any progress on updates done by those outside of little Mojangs world of screwups, even worse.
