This has been happening since 1.7 update but idk? is it my computer or the plugins

For the memory.. You can change it when you open Minecraft.
Edit Profile > JVM Arguments > Change it whatever your feel comfortable with

For the chat... Go in Minecraft
Esc > Options > Multiplayer Settings... > Change Width > 320 px
