Well I can run mc on my other video card which is an on board that I've been using for ages. Recently I got a new and better on but apparently java can't run. I can actually go open javaw.exe and nothing. I've don't a bit of research and I think it's an opengl thing.  I've spent almost 2 days trying to fix this and its starting to piss me off that I'll have to take out my video card each time I want to play a java based game. Of course if you make a thread on their website or email for help you just get an automated not or nothing at all. If anyone has any ideas lemme know

the minecraft error log doesn't provide everything.. it hasn't even provided which gfx card this is..

let alone which drivers you installed for it, if you tell me you 'updated' your new graphic card drivers through windows shitty update i will laugh because that is not how you do it, and MS have an agenda to push directx not opengl so any drivers you get from them are going to be crippled.

Make sure you have gotten latest drivers for gfx card from manufacturer
And I would suggest downloading the newer mc release through the launcher like 1.7.10, it comes with updated lwjgl version, but i doubt that is going to fix this.

yea my tech classes ive always learned to go for manufactures over windows drives, windows drivers are just so generic and crappy. But i think i realized my problem.... i pulled a stupid and i think it is the problem, i think i installed the wrong drivers, well theyre compatible but not the exact drivers.... ill see ya in a bit.

Edit: well it still doesnt work, im just about to give up, theres really nothing else i can think to try to fix this. I have the right drivers, maybe Radeon and opengl dont mix. Idk your help is better than my knowledge, if you have anything else please lemme know.

Edit: duck it. its an old video card not supported by new stuff like gpu and opengl so im just going to switch back to my onboard video card, surprising its better. and im going to go and BUY a good and better one. The one i got was new to me atleast, i found it laying around and thought id try it out. So yea, ill see ya around.

hmmm well if you have the right drivers and they are upto date, and other opengl games work?

you tried newer mc version one without mods?
