Sebbacus:
Hello,
I have lost all my minecraft worlds that I have saved, I am able to create a new world.....oooh I just created a new seed and spawned on a nice island in a deep ocean...anyway, I have no servers and can't add new ones, My wifi is on and working normally, Avast says everything is running fine.
I went on to %appdata% and my minecraft file and I immediately noticed files are missing such as the mods file and screen shots! The files I have are: assets, libraries, logs, resourcepacks, saves, versions, launcher, launcher.pack.lzma, Launcher_profile.json, options, server.dat
The saves file is empty, the versions has 1.7.9 in it wich I have just loaded up now. And everything after that is missing. I haven't deleted anything but I did more the .minecraft file to my desktop so I could get to it quickly.
IDK what to do.....
Sebbacus:
I just tried changing my version and I saw that I cant use any of the new snapshots of 1.8, not that it really matters at the moment

Ok so I searched this on the internet and I think it may help you.
if he reinstalled it you might not be able to get them back
BUT if you go to your start menu, click "Run" then type in "%appdata%" then go into the".Minecraft" folder and then into the "Saves" folder and into the folder of whichever world or worlds you want back (eg World 1) then right at the bottom there might be files called "level.dat_old" "level.dat" "session.lock"
DELETE "level.dat" and rename "level.dat_old" to "level.dat"
(If there is no saves folder I'm sorry but I can't help you)
(If there is no "Run" file in the start menu try pressing control alt delete to open "task manager" then go to the "applications" tab and click "new Task" then type in "%appdata%"
HOPE THIS HELPED.
Sebbacus:
oops, silly me the reason I couldn't do that was because I had experimental versions off, I always have it on.....
Sebbacus:
As I said the save folder is empty but thank you for trying D:
