The Minecraft Launcher

I have been experiencing some problems with the launcher and I was wondering if I could have some help. On my computer when ever I try to go on I can't because it says an error code. My computer is Windows XP but I never have updated it and don't want to, so can you please make a legacy launcher to work on older computers? If so I thank you so much because the reason why I can't update my computer is because I have no internet and can't get internet unless I go to the my public library (as I am right now).

Is this the first time you have tried the launcher? You need to post the error code or a screenshot of it, I have no way of troublehooting without it.

And the launcher should work on winXP, I believe some have had it working on that OS, you need to have the .net framework (version4 is the last working version for winxp and I use that to compile the launcher with) download is here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=17718)

ok i got it to work but only when i access it from my flash drive, why? i can open the launcher up on when it's on the computer but minecraft doesn't open. on my flash drive it lets me play minecraft, so thank you but i already know that everytime I want to play mc I have to plug my flash drive in (going to get annoying).

did you download portable java? 

goto settings and tick Debug on at the bottom, press launch, ctrl+c copy that popup dialog, minecrat not starting up probably has something to do with it being unable to find java on the pc, while on the flash drive maybe you have a portable java so it can find it.
